http://carloslascano.blogspot.com/2009/01/creative-call-convocatoria.html ------ A couple of pencil-outlined birds escape from a little girl´s drawing, leading us through the life she dreams of.
According to this calculator that's about 25 in dog years. So, in honor of that event, we played all day. First, we both slept in very late. Then after I got ready, Carver got a puppy massage. Then while I had to complete a freelance job, I let Carver have his birthday present - an extra large BBQ basted bone (it is now less than 1/4 it's original size). Then we went to the meet Tuck and Frenches at Starbucks to play and walk the trail. After we returned home it was time for a long snooze and then dinner. I forgot to pick up his new Koosh ball, but he hardly noticed. Huge BBQ basted bones are a great peace offering - hahaha!
Here he is sporting his shamrock collar (thanks to Frenches and Tuck) on the way to the trail. Notice how he puts his ears back? It's to make him more aerodynamic when we travel by car. Ha!
So I promised some Christmas pictures. Here are a couple of my tree that's been in hiding for the past few years. Currently, I've put away the ornaments and all other Christmas decor, but I can't seem to will myself to put away the tree. I might just leave it up (bare except for lights) all year!
I also have to share pics of 2008 Christmas Shoes… Lindsey was so cute and proud of her lace-up Converse,
The week after Christmas was exciting at my place. The Fire trucks came! My neighbor's hot tub caught on fire (the motor within it) and filled his entire house with smoke! He came next door to make sure my house wasn't filled with smoke too - it wasn't. Two fire trucks showed up. I guess because they knew we were townhouses and all connected. Carver got out and barked and ran all around (and I think inside) the fire trucks and firemen. Good thing firemen aren't afraid of little dogs unlike the pizza delivery guys around here! Ha!
They found the fire, put it out, and Carver passed out asleep on the rug from all the commotion. I've been pleased with how well insulated my townhouse is from my neighbors.' After trying the forces of water and fire, they've passed the test!
So I know I've raved about how awesome my Dad is before., but he's done it again!
See before…
That's my old kitchen sink and faucet. Blah.
And here is… TADA!!! My new sink AND new faucet. I will brag on myself a little here and say that I actually installed the faucet myself… Dad did the plumbing part. AND he did so without showing any crack like a normal plumber. Ha ha ha!
So now I have a little touch up paint around the house and I need to get my contract painter to come over and see why the paint he put on all of my doors is peeling off. I don't guess I'll ever be done.
So another huge piece in my remodeling project is closer to completion.
Travis finished hanging all of my cabinet doors in my kitchen! I've been waiting a while for this and now it's finally done! Yay! Some were painted before they were put up and some I had to wait on so Travis could finish up the trim.
Last night Ma and her friend Rhonda came over to help me paint them. Here they are three coats of red later! Excuse the mess... you all know how it is when you're painting.
Next up: Kitchen sink replacement.
In other news, I have my Christmas tree again. MY tree! It's been too long! And, I know, I know, it's not even Thanksgiving yet, but since I've not had my tree for a few years... I think I'm entitled. It's not decorated, just standing up in my living room and looking fabulous. I'll post pics of that later in the season.
